A blanket of white coats farm fields during Arizona’s cotton harvest. Farmer Howard Wuertz’s family first started growing cotton in the area in the 1930s. Back in those days they used dirt canals to move water. Since then, he’s become a pioneer in using sub-surface drip irrigation to grow cotton in Arizona- drastically reducing his water usage and teaching others around the world how to do the same.
